Why can't i loose my belly fat?

I walk 2.5 miles to work one way and 2.5 miles exactly home every day. so that is 5 mile's everyday plus one day i week i run as far as i can about 1 mile on and off until my calves hurt. i do 50 sit ups every day. as far as my diet goes i try to watch what i eat but sometimes once or twice a week i treat my self to some take out. i try to compensate the special food by running or walking at a faster pace. but now i find myself with a great pair of calves and still i have a belly... what am i doing wrong other than tightning down on my diet even harder? im 29 years old and my height is about 178.
Answer:
Sit ups won't do a thing about removing the layer of fat. They just tone the underlying abdominal muscles.

It's all about your diet. I would suggest keeping a food diary for a week to see exactly what you're eating and when you're eating it.

Once you've recorded an example of your weekly diet, I would suggest consulting with a physical trainer and having him or her design a diet and exercise plan for you after reviewing your diet diary.
You now, one large McDonald's french fries is 500 CALORIES! Just for fries! Not lieing. So imagine how much a big mac is, or spaghetti with meat balls! If your eat take out every week, you are just taking up all of that hard earned fat off, you just burned off that week!

Take out is good here, and there. But not every week!
It has something to do with the heredity. You may reduce the fats in the diet ("take-aways"). But some ab. exercises will be needed. Walking - running though good for health are not specific to reduce belly, which is diffficult anyway. You may try to keep it as it is, reducing might be difficult.
Something else to consider is that belly fat is the first place men gain fat, and the last place to take it off. For women it is in thier hips. This is just a stubborn area to loose that fat. A food diary is great, because it really opens your eyes to what you are eating. It sounds like you are on the rigt track, you may have to do a little extra to shed the last remaining belly fat. Try interval training, sprint hard for 30 sec then walk for 30 sec. Try to start with 5 min then work up from there. Do this once a week and you will burn more fat in your running workouts.
Stop right now with that take out food:all you do is gain as fast as you loose weight.
Way to fat and to many calories.
Better take a chicken salad instead
Or a Turkey sand witch.
Look out for sugar and fat.
Drink loads of water.
Cucumber and tomatoes you can eat as many as you like:they actually dissolve fat you are eating.
Doing great:but the take out ruins it.

The absolute number one way to lose weight is NOT exercise, but it is diet. Exercise certainly helps, but diet will get you where you want to be. For a lot of people, losing those last few stubborn pounds is the hardest. You might want to consider a Keto-type diet as they can really help a person lose weight fast.
Theres a few easy things you can do to get belly fat down.
Only consume water.for every drink, beer, pop, milk, juice, coffee..replace it with water. Keep just this up for a few weeks and you will see big results.

Next try eating alot less carbs and alot more protein. Eat a mix for breakfast (Oat meal, and 2 eggs) only protein for lunch,(Chicken breast, Tuna) and a mix for dinner(Chicken and rice, fish and veg) Keeping this balance will reduce the amount of water your body retains in its cells and will help you shed 5-10 pounds water weight in 2 weeks.

If you can handle those other two, try eating very small meals throughout the day(every 3 hours)..you may have to pre make alot of them if time is an issue. Keep them at about 400-600 calorie meals. By doing this you will increase your metabolism and burn more total calories than if you ate 3 bigger meals a day.
